Moduleo is becoming an increasingly popular flooring option in homes and business environments.

Durable, waterproof and scratch-resistant, Moduleo is refreshing low-maintenance in comparison to stone and wood. With a range of photo-finish designs to suit any space, Moduleo has also been commended for its style and attractiveness.

What is Moduleo Flooring?

Moduleo is a luxury vinyl flooring product made up of seven to eight layers.

On top of the “backing layer”, you’ll find two layers made of fibreglass. Touted as “the original waterproof flooring material”, fibreglass helps Moduleo retain its moisture-resistant qualities. It also means the planks won’t shrink, warp or change size after exposure to liquids, nor will they crack after repeat handling.

Over the fibreglass, you’ll find a high-definition print, giving Moduleo its realistic appearance of wood or stone. The “wear layer” protects the planks from scuffs and scratches, while the upper PU layer gives Moduleo another dimension of durability.

Moduleo Ranges

Moduleo flooring comes in three product ranges: Impress, Select and Transform.

Select Moduleo was designed for any home environment. The smaller, thinner planks and tiles come with a wide variety of wood and stone effects, including oak, pine, teak, slate and granite.

Transform, meanwhile, can be used in either home or commercial spaces. Slightly thicker with a 0.55mm wear layer, in comparison to Select’s 0.40mm, Transform is perfect for areas with heavy footfall. Like Select, Transform comes in a variety of effects, such as oak, maple and bluestone.

Finally, the Moduleo Impress range was created to be just that: impressive. Using state-of-the-art technology, Impress is the most natural-looking floor money can buy without being the “real thing”.

Moduleo Impress flooring is embossed in register, giving the planks an incredibly realistic finish. The ridges pressed into the surface coat exactly match the grain of the wood or stone in the photographic layer. Best of all, Moduleo Impress (and all Moduleo varieties) are low-maintenance. There’s no staining, sanding or lacquering – all that’s needed is regular sweeping and a pH neutral cleaner.

Why Use Moduleo Flooring?

The benefits of Moduleo are numerous.

Like other luxury vinyl flooring, Moduleo is both sound and heat absorbent. Unlike stone, which is cold in the winter months and undoubtedly “noisy”, Moduleo is warm and comfortable enough to walk on barefoot.

Moduleo is also R10 slip-resistant, which explains its popularity in restaurants and bars. Slips, trips and falls are the most common causes of injury in the workplace, and Moduleo is safe enough to use in places where spills are common.

Another huge benefit is its scratch and scuff-resistant layer. Brand-new wood flooring can be scratched by pets, furniture or shoes within minutes. Meanwhile, Moduleo’s polyurethane coating retains the texture of wood while adding much-needed durability.

How Do I Install a Moduleo Floor?

Moduleo can be installed on concrete, timber, stone, and many other floors that have been suitably prepared.

You can install Moduleo flooring with either the “dryback” or CLICK system. Dryback is the conventional method for fixing vinyl tiles or planks – each plank is glued to the sub-floor using an adhesive.

The CLICK system locks planks or tiles together much like a jigsaw. Though the subfloor will need preparation, less is required than for the traditional dryback. Forming a seamless floor, CLICK speeds up the installation process, meaning less disruption for homes and businesses.

Though you can install a Moduleo floor yourself, we highly recommend that you get Moduleo laid by a professional. This ensures a flawless finish, and you’ll get the most out of your guarantee.
